Isabelle Bergman, born and raised in Antwerp—famously known as the 'city of diamonds'—developed a passion for design and creation from an early age. Growing up amidst diamond merchants, her fascination with art and jewellery was evident from the beginning. As a child, she would often accompany her father, a painter and avid collector of Art Deco and Art Nouveau pieces, to auctions. For her birthdays, she had the unique opportunity to choose either a piece of art or an antique piece of jewellery. As she grew older, she would receive a diamond, allowing her to create her own unique jewellery, further nurturing her love for art and design. Isabelle began designing her own jewellery, driven by the desire to create something truly inspiring that she couldn't find in stores. Her fascination with the stunning natural colors found in precious and semi-precious stones led her to craft pieces that beautifully blend these vibrant hues, using carefully selected stones and high-quality diamonds set in 18-karat gold. Today, these exquisite pieces are handcrafted in Antwerp by the finest Belgian artisans, renowned for their precision.
Recently, her daughter Florence Strijbosch joined the business, bringing with her a background in economics and becoming Isabelle's right hand. Customers enjoy direct communication with either Florence or Isabelle, ensuring that each sale has a personal touch. Together, they ensure that every piece reflects their dedication to quality and craftsmanship, preserving the legacy of Bergman Jewels for generations to come.
